Winter Quarters explosion statement, 1900.

Correspondence between W.G. Sharp and John McNeil. John McNeil gives a summary of the Winter Quarters Explosion of 1900 in which 199 workers died. He discusses the actions being taken to repair the mines, assist with the funerals for the workers, and prevent future accidents. He says the event could not have been foreseen and was nobody's fault. 9 photocopied pages with a map. There is also some information in "Notes and Recommendations on the Explosion."
